TuniScript is an automatic transcription (speech to text) tool built for the Tunisian dialect. It converts your audio and video files into text: interviews, podcasts, meetings, lectures, radio shows and focus groups.
Most Arabic transcription tools are designed for Modern Standard Arabic. TuniScript understands Derja the way it is spoken in Tunisia, mixed with French and English: Arabic is written in Arabic script and foreign words stay in Latin letters.
The result is a Word transcript with timestamps and each speaker’s name, ready for a thesis, an article, a report or qualitative analysis.

Do I need to install software?+
No. TuniScript runs in your browser on Windows or Mac. An internet connection is needed during transcription.
How accurate is it for Derja?+
Accuracy is very good on clear audio. As with any professional transcription, a quick review is recommended.
Does it also transcribe Modern Standard Arabic?+
Yes. TuniScript is optimised for Tunisian Derja mixed with French and English, and it also works with Modern Standard Arabic. Arabic is written in Arabic script.
Can I transcribe a video?+
Yes. Upload an MP4 video file: only its audio track is used for the transcription.
How are my files protected?+
Your file is split in your browser. Each part is sent encrypted, transcribed by our AI service, then deleted: we never store the audio. Only the text is kept in your account, and you can delete it.
Which audio formats are supported?+
The main formats are supported, including MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG and MP4.
